Taking Photos
Taking photos is a hard thing to do . Here are twelve points to help take good photos.
- Take as many snaps as you can so hopefully you get a shot at that right split second.
- Set up your space. Shut or open curtains, give your dog something to be entertained, open the door, move the table or even turn of the TV.
- Move around. Take photos from different angles. What's the point of having arms and legs if your not going to use them? Make the most of them. Lie down, stand up, crouch, army crawl, climb a ladder, stand on a box, kneel down or lean over.
- Be patient. You won't always get an excellent shot on your first try. In my new album, A brand new day (You can find that under Picture Gallery) I had taken 50 shots but only posted the best 10. Its normal if you don't get a good shot your first time.
- Use different lenses. If you're using a camera then try photos with different lenses. Or try it with or without the flash.
- Zoom. Use the zoom on your camera or phone. Zoom wasn't put there for nothing, it was put there to use so use it. If your dog is too far away then zoom or zoom out. If your dog has found a spot where you can't get to to take a picture then zoom in.
- Reward. At the end of taking your photos reward your dog. Maybe give them a pat, a treat, a walk or anything else your dog might like. It really depends on what your dog likes.
- Play with your dog first. This creates a 'smile' for the photo. The dog should have an open mouth for the photo so it looks like its smiling. Don't play too much because otherwise the photo will be only the dogs tongue because it will be panting so much.
- Dont take too long. If you take too much time bossing your pet around trying to get it in the right position then it will get bored and stop trying. Dont go over half an hour trying to get a photo. Do about 10 minutes worth of photos and then try again another day.
- Believe in yourself. Put all your good photos in one folder on the computer so you can see what your up to in taking photos.
- Put all your photos on the computer. Its easier to see the photos on the computer than on the camera. Then you can also edit them.
- Have fun. Don't worry if you can't get any good photos. Just have fun. Stop if you want to because there is always tommorow when you can try again.
